From The Ground Up by AssClownFish From The Ground Up by AssClownFish
The animation messed up around the full in, but I decided to leave it, because it kinda matches my personal theme of imperfection.

This is basically me saying, I don't need others to make my art. While I do enjoy ORIGINAL bases. I don't obviously rely on them and I can build everything from the bottom to the top.

Even my stamps :dummy: I hope you like it. Way too many frames for this piece of poop.

Concept
----------------
This is a stamp that allows us to show pride for our work, created from absolutely nothing, ground up. This is the pride of many "good" artists, or not that good enought, but who can lift their chins and shout: "I did it alone"

As good as it might be, it can also be misleading. Didn't we all had referencer throughout our life? Had we never watched that comic, that anime, that movie, that lighted that sparkle in our mind? "I wish I could draw like that", "I wish I could paint like that". True artists must be gratefull for all the reference they have received in their lives, so that they can do their art from so called "ground up".

But, I guess the real aim of this stamp is going against art theft, that is a bad, bad thing. Besides, who would be proud to be an art thief? Well, I guess some people would, for the fans and faves. I guess the real point that should go against art theft is that "I use my own ideas on my work, and I'm proud of it".

----------------

This stamp is, without a doubt, very impactive and beautifully crafted. The fact that the stamp is being made from the absolute nothing is simply amazing. The time lampse animation allways keeps us in expectative, wondering what will it become in the end, and it surprises us with it's impact phrase. This is what filmmakers should be doing in their scripts.

Plus, the simplicity of the stamp don't draw away our atention from the phrase, which makes it more impactant. I believe this animation took an absurd lot of frames to be done, and time from the artist, which only makes my admiration from this piece grow.

It's a nice, simple and with a profound meaning. Just as a stamp should be

This stamp is FUN! :3 It makes me all happy and reminds me of the fact that no matter how much I have to erase something and draw it again, at least I am doing it myself.

Great statement ;D I think many artists may rely on a stencil too heavily. And forget the enjoyment of doing it themselves their own way. Imperfections and all ;D

I use brushes and loosely use references if I'm struggling with a hard pose, but otherwise my artwork is 100% original, started from scratch. :D
Great stamp! :)

I can admit to using brushes that other people made to make my pictures prettier, but.. My bases are 100% original, at least.

I just love those glitter brushes though. *w*

This stamp applies to me, too.

Think about it:

First, I have to play the damn game I'm making a fic around, then I have to make a general plot (such as where my characters come in, how badly part A gets fucked over by factor B, yadda yadda), then I have to make draft after draft after draft until it looks right, then I have to edit and polish it up, then I have to add in the obligatory credit-giving author's note with a snarky side-comment, and then I have to post it.

It's a complicated fucking process! :iconimhorrifiedplz:

Oh! I didn't know that that was what you meant. At first I thought that you draw something like feet first then the body then the head. Some people draw like that don't they?

I find myself being a very contradictory person when it comes to this. While for all my art, I have never used a base and never will, for my stamps I see no point in making my on template. . .I did a couple times, and this is what happened:
"Oh this turned out good. . .Wait, that looks like Zilla's template."
"Okay this is better. . .Wait tht looks like someone elses template."
And on and on and on >.<
